How to block TikTok on Android
Before explaining to you how to block TikTok on a device Android, I want to make you aware of the various methods to perform this action, depending on what you need.
For example, the first thing you could do is activate the family connection, which allows you to monitor the activities of another TikTok account and limit its functionality. This option is very useful when there is a need to monitor the activities of a minor.
If the above solution isn't what you are looking for, then you might be thinking about using the application control. With this function, you can decide the maximum time to spend on TikTok in a day, or limit the type of content that is offered by the application, to make room for others appropriate to anyone.
In case you are still not convinced, know that there is still an option that you can resort to, namely block access to the app with a code. In the latter case, the available functions and their names may vary slightly from device to device (depending on the brand and version of Android installed on it); anyway don't worry, you want to know how to block TikTok on Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei or any other brand of Android device, you will not find it difficult to follow my instructions (in fact, I will try to be as generic as possible).
Family connection
As I mentioned earlier, the functionality family connection integrated in TikTok allows you to access the settings of another account on the famous Chinese social network, so you can modify or limit some features. For example, you can limit the maximum time the user can spend on TikTok or the types of content that are shown in the application. Before continuing, therefore, keep in mind that you also need to have access to the TikTok account you want to associate with yours.
To activate the feature, open TikTok on your main account and press on the tab Me. From here, press onthree dots icon located at the top of the screen and then select the item Family connection from the screen that opens. Finally, press on the button Continue.
At this point, you have to press the icon Parent. The person who is using the account to which the use must be limited, on the other hand, must press the icon Teen. Infine, premium pulsating NEXT.
A. Will appear on the phone of the person with the TikTok Parent account QR code, which will need to be scanned from the phone of the person with the Teen account. Then use the account of the latter, press the button Scan code and point the camera at the QR code on the Parent account. Finally, press on the keys Colleague account e Link.
Now that the family link feature is enabled, I'll explain how this option works.
Using the TikTok Parent account, you can decide which features to make available to the TikTok Teen account. In fact, if you have followed my instructions correctly, on your device screen you will see a list of all the TikTok accounts associated with the account you are using. Then select the one you just connected to access its control panel (by pressing on its miniature).
The first thing you can do is set a time limit for the Teen account, thanks to which you can decide how much time per day the user in question can spend on TikTok, before it is blocked.
To activate the limit, tap on the item Time management and then again on the voice Time limit. At this point, select i minutes you prefer and then press onarrow icon located at the top of the screen, to go back. Finally, press the button Activate for @ [TikTok account name].
Now that the limit is active for the Teen account you have chosen, the Teen account will not be able to spend more time on TikTok than you set in the panel. When the time frame is exceeded, a access code, available only through the TikTok Parent account associated with the Teenager account.
To get the access code through the Parent account, you have to press on the item Time management and then on the button Get access code. A will appear on the screen code to be entered in the Teenager account, to unlock access to TikTok.
Another function offered by the TikTok family link is that of limited mode, which allows, in fact, to limit the type of content that is shown to the TikTok Teenager user associated with the Parent account.
To activate this function, all you have to do is press on the item Limited Mode and then on the button Activate for @ [TikTok account name]. From now on, the Teenager user will only see content that is appropriate for everyone.
You can also decide if activate or deactivate the search function on the Teenager account, so that he can only see what is proposed to him by the application.
To do this, you have to press on the item Search and press On, if you want it to be activated, or on off, if you want to disable the function.
Finally, there is also a panel of privacy settings, through which you can change various Teen account options. For example, from here you can make the account private, decide who can contact it, who can comment on the videos uploaded by the latter and much more.
In case you decide to unlink the two accounts, just press on miniature of the Teenager account through the Parent account and then press the button Disconnect and confirm. Simple, right?
Application control
If you need to limit the features on your TikTok account, then you can use the application control: another function integrated into the application that allows you to have greater control over the time you spend in the first person inside it, and on the contents displayed.
To access this feature, click on the tab Me in the TikTok app and then on thethree dots icon, located at the top of the screen. Finally, tap on the item Application control.
If you want limit the time you spend on the application, you have to press on Time management. From here, you can set a maximum time you can spend per day on TikTok.
To do this, you need to press on the key Time limit and select the maximum daily time period you want to spend on the application. When you have decided, press onarrow icon located at the top of the screen, in order to go back.
To activate the function, press the button Activate Time Management. At this point, if this is your first time activating this option, you will be asked to enter one Password, to be used if the established time limit is exceeded. Then enter a Password and then press the button NEXT. Finally, re-enter the Password that you have chosen and give confirmation.
If, on the other hand, you want limit the type of content that are offered to you by TikTok, just press on the item Limited Mode. At this point, all you have to do is press the button Activate Restricted Mode.
Again, if this is your first time using this feature, you will be prompted to enter one Password, which you can use when you decide to disable this function. Therefore, type the Password you want to set and then press the button NEXT. At this point, enter the once again Password that you have chosen and finally give confirmation. That's all: simple, right?
Android app lock
If you need a method external to the application for block the use of TikTok, then you can opt for a handy feature included in many Android versions. In fact, the most recent versions of the green robot's operating system offer the possibility of setting a PIN (or unlocking via face / fingerprint) when opening certain applications, similar to what happens with the lock screen. This feature is useful when strangers might access your phone.
To access this feature, you need to go to Settings of your phone (the icon of thegear that you find on the Home screen or in the drawer) and then press on the items Safety e App block. If you don't see these two, try searching for terms like app lock in the settings menu and select the most relevant result.
At this point, enter your PIN or perform the face / fingerprint recognition (in case you have not set an unlock method on your phone, you will be asked to do so at the moment). By doing so, you will access the list of applications on your device.
What you need to do now is scroll until you find TikTok. At this point, then, activate the lever to the right of the application by moving it to ON. Nothing else: now to open TikTok you will need to use the PIN or the biometric unlocking system.
Please note that the lock will be deactivated as soon as you unlock the application and will only be operational again after turning off the phone screen.
To disable this setting, however, just go back to the menu Settings> Security> App lock, access the panel and move to OFF the lever located to the right of the item TikTok.
How to block TikTok on iPhone
Also for block TikTok on iPhone, various solutions are available. First of all, the family connection, the functionality integrated in the app that gives the possibility to modify the options for using the social network for another account (ideal for controlling the device of someone who needs to be supervised, for example a minor).
If, on the other hand, you need to set a block on your TikTok account, you can use another feature integrated into the application, namely the application control. Finally, you can limit the use of the application through the function Usage time of iOS, which allows you to block access to apps with a PIN after they have been in use for a chosen period of time. Here are all the details.
Family connection
If you need to limit the time or content available to a particular TikTok account, then the family connection is what it is for you. With this functionality integrated in the application, in fact, you can access the settings of a particular account and decide what you want to be shown to the user when he is in the application.
To understand how to take advantage of this feature, I refer you to the previous chapter for Android. Just follow the same instructions, as the procedures are exactly the same.
Application control
In case you are trying to limit the use of TikTok on your own account, then you can resort to another function built into the app, the application control. With this option, you can give yourself a maximum amount of time to spend on TikTok during the day, or adjust the type of content that is shown to you so that it is suitable for everyone.
Again, I refer you to the previous chapter for Android, since the instructions are identical for both devices.
Tempo of use of iOS
If the above features did not satisfy you, know that you can resort to yet another method. In fact, on the iPhone there is a function that can limit the usage time of an application.
To access this feature, open the application Settings (the'icona dell'ingranaggio located on the Home screen or in the App Library) and select the item Usage time. If you are using the feature for the first time, you will be asked to activate it. Then press the button Enable "Usage Time", by pressing the button Continue and finally on the key It's my iPhone.
After that you need to set up a "Usage time" code, by pressing on the appropriate item and setting the PIN to be requested to unlock any apps blocked with the function.
Once this is done, you have to press on the option App limitations and add a new limitation by pressing the button Aggiungi LIMITATION OF USE. Once this is done, press on the bar Search and type TikTok and then press on his miniature. Finally, press the button Add and then on the button NEXT.
At this point, all you have to do is decide the type of limitation you want to set to the application. You can decide both a time limit and a day limit (min.1 minute of use), so you can better organize the time spent inside TikTok.
When you have decided the limit to be set in the app, press the button Add. That's all: now the application will be locked when it is used more than the scheduled time and you will need to enter the PIN set for the Usage Time, to unlock it (from time to time, you may be allowed to use it for 1 extra minute during the day).
How to block TikTok on PC
If you are trying to understand how to block TikTok on PC, keep in mind that you cannot apply the functions I explained above, as they are only available for the mobile version of TikTok.
Don't give up: there are still many methods you can use to block TikTok even on PC. In this regard, I leave you to my tutorial dedicated to the subject, in which I show you some programs to block sites.
How to block a TikTok account
You need block a TikTok account why do you no longer want to view its contents? Then know that the procedure is not complicated at all!
Before explaining how to do it, however, know that this function is only available on the mobile version of TikTok, since the web version of the social network does not allow you to do this. Alternatively, you could use an Android emulator and follow the steps I'm about to walk you through. block a TikTok account, therefore, you must first get to the page of the account in question. You can do this directly from the card Main page within the videos that are proposed to you, by clicking onaccount icon who created the content you are viewing.
At this point, you have to press onthree dots icon located on the top of the screen and, in the window that appears, press the button Block. Now you just have to press the button CONFIRMATION and the account will be blocked. By doing so, you will no longer see its content until you unlock it. Nothing else, quick and easy!
