Block a mobile number on iPhone with the Blocked feature

Let's start by seeing how to block a mobile number on iPhone using the iOS Blocked feature. If you have never heard of it, the Blocked function available on iOS is a feature that - as can be easily deduced from the name - allows you to prevent specific contacts from calling you, either via "normal" call or via FaceTime, but also to send you SMS and to contact you via iMessage.


When a contact is blocked and tries to call you, he will find himself having to deal with the same recorded voice that your telephone provider plays to whoever calls you whenever your phone is turned off or unreachable. As for the messages, the sender does not receive any notice, they will simply not be delivered to you.


So if it is your intention to block a mobile number on the iPhone using the Blocked function, the first step you need to take is to access the home screen of your device and press the icon of Settings (the gear). In the new screen that will later be shown to you, tap on the item Telephonepiggy back his Call blocking and identification and then select the item Block contact ....

At this point, proceed by selecting from the address book the name referring to the phone number you want to block. Depending on what your needs are, you can add one or more names, there are no limits. Then, press on the voice Telephone located at the top left to confirm the application of the operations carried out.

If it is your intention to block a mobile number on the iPhone by acting on a number that is not present in the address book, press the handset icon located on the home screen, select the tab Recent and then presses the i icon placed next to the phone number to be blocked.

Obviously, if you have to think again, you can always and in any case go to cancel the whole procedure by which to block the receipt of SMS and iMessage messages from a specific contact. To do this, just click on the icon of Settings present on the home screen, tap on the item Messages and then press on Blocked. Then swipe from right to left on the name to be unlocked and then press the button Unlock that appears from the side.


Block a mobile number on iPhone with Do Not Disturb

Another function that allows you to block unwanted numbers on the iPhone is the one called Do not disturb. The Do Not Disturb function of iOS, if you have never heard of it, is a special feature available on Apple mobile devices that allows you to block all calls, including those made via FaceTime, when the terminal is in stand-by, except those received of numbers added to a favorite list.

When the Do Not Disturb function is active and a contact tries to call you, he will find himself listening to the same recorded voice that your telephone company makes to hear whoever calls you whenever your phone is turned off or unreachable. As for the SMS and messages sent via iMessage, you will receive them regularly but your phone will not emit any notification sound.


To block a mobile number on iPhone using the Do Not Disturb function all you have to do is call back the Control Center of iOS by swiping from bottom to top on any screen and pressing the icon depicting a half moon.

After activating the Do Not Disturb function in the upper right part of your iPhone screen you will see an icon depicting a half moon. The icon indicates that the Do Not Disturb function has successfully entered into action and therefore the function to block a mobile number on the iPhone is active.

In addition to this, as I have just indicated, you can take advantage of the Do Not Disturb function also by configuring its use in such a way as to refine the system by which to block a mobile number on the iPhone. After carrying out these steps, remember to indicate the contacts from which you want to receive phone calls as favorites. To do this, press the app icon Telephone attached on the home screen, tap on the item Contacts placed at the bottom, presses on the contact you want to add to the list of favorites and then tap on the item Add to Favorites. If more than one telephone number is associated with a specific contact, remember to specify which of those listed you intend to include in your favorites.

If instead of blocking the reception of calls from specific numbers you want to prevent anyone from phone calls, friends, girlfriends, relatives, work colleagues, strangers and so on and so forth, press on the voice Nobody annexed to the section Allow calls from.

Keep in mind that if you have second thoughts, you can retrace your steps at any time by canceling the entire procedure to block a mobile number on the iPhone and, consequently, by disabling the Do Not Disturb function.
